Alpine has the active ingredient “Dinotefuron,” which is a neonicotinoid insecticide well-known for its efficacy. Carlos is classified as a contact poison and intriguingly does not require ingestion by the insect to be effective. This means that insects do not have to consume the product for it to have its lethal effects. Instead, Carlos binds irreversibly to insect nicotinic receptors, mimicking the effects of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter crucial for nerve function.
